My history with EBS is a special one. I was one person that had the opportunity to come to Norway and help to build the EBS building, starting in 2000. I always thought it would be nice to take the whole EBS course, but I had taken a evangelism program before and had been to Africa and grew up with hydrotherapy treatments at home and didn't see the need to spend the money to do these things again.

Then in 2004, I joined a group to work in Ethiopia Africa, and everyone in our group took the EBS course. I was sponsored and it was one of the best years of my life. I made close friendships, I learned more about who I am and what kind of a person God wants me to be, and I learned that what you remember most from studying is what you put into practice.

After EBS, I spent a year in Ethiopia and then returned to Norway to work for the Heartgood Foundation while preparing to continue my college education. I spent this last year studying generals, math, physics, and psychology. This year I am applying to study automation (robotics) engineering at a state university in Norway for three years.

My vision for the future is to continue to develop a life that honors my Creator and Savior as I finish school, see my courtship with the woman of my heart through to a marriage, and begin a family. "But prove yourselves doers of the Word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man(women) shall be blessed in what he(she) does." James 1:22,25

The European Bible School was a great place to get a vision for mission. I have both learned and enjoyed my time being a student and teacher. I have not learned from my personal studies but from the dedicated teachers, whose desire is to instill in every student the best not only for this life, but an education for the life to come. As God in His mercy has granted to each of us the privilege of service in this life, first I was a missionary in Ethiopia for one year. Later I returned as assistant bible teacher to the European Bible School. As my time has been completed here, I now move on to Honduras. In Honduras I will be part of a small team that will be developing an Outpost center, that will be educational and mission directed. I thank the Lord for the opportunities that He has provided.

I came back from my year at EBS (2005-2006) to attend Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. I'm a double major with a minor. I'm a Secondary Religion Education major, a Secondary Math Education major, and a Pre-Law minor. I will be here a total of five years and I will be beginning year number three in Fall 2008. I intend on being an educator at an academy or in the mission field. Since educators sometimes only teach ten months out of the year, I have a second career. I am a Data Entry Specialist. During the school year, I work for Union College Admissions and during the summer I work for Community Care of Oklahoma. (I also work as a writing tutor one night a week.)

EBS helped me to re-prioritize my goals and my views. I decided to become a teacher and that I would come to Union College because of my experiences at EBS. Through EBS, I saw and experienced more than I ever could have imagined. EBS taught me a lot of new things about the world I live in and about myself, but most of all, I really learned a lot about the character of Christ. The people at EBS work together as a team, as a family, through service to one another. Wherever I go in life, I will continue to serve others and to share what I learned at EBS.

Taking the evangelism course at European Bible School was indeed an eye opener to me. At first I was hesitant about going there but any doubt was soon brushed aside. It was the beginning of a journey where Christianity actually started meaning something in my life and it became more than just a bunch of good, logical principles. Being together with many other students and experience how these principles put into practice make a difference in life was very exciting and encouraging. It was something I really needed to experience. Being a Christian means more than just physically doing the right things – in fact we are on the wrong track if that is where we begin. It must be the foundation of our life and be part of our mindset – and this is what EBS is all about.

One of the things we did during the course was going door to door doing surveys. I had never done this before and as I'm the kind of guy that rather likes to listen than to talk, I was not fond of the idea at all! But I soon realized that it was so interesting talking to people, hearing different perspectives on things, and getting your theories tested, that I actually started to really enjoy it. Being pushed into new experiences is often a very healthy and good experience for us.

After the course at EBS I went back to Denmark and just a couple of weeks later I received a phone call which was the beginning to a new and very exciting chapter of my life. I was asked if I was willing to help Global Evangelism, now called ShareHIM, make a system to manage all the campaigns that they offered lay people to do in different parts of world. I accepted the challenge and went to the United States for a couple of months to do this project. It soon turned out to be a much greater task than first expected, and now 5 years later I'm still working for ShareHIM. It is a tremendous blessing to have a job that is both mission minded, giving me great freedom to plan my days, and provides for the daily needs. Looking back I can see it was truly God who led me into this project, several events were too remarkable to be just coincidences – but that is quite another story...

A few years ago I decided to move from my home country Denmark to beautiful Norway, settling down near the European Bible School once again. Not only do I like Norway as a country, with the mountains, skiing opportunities and so on, but from all the places I have been during my travels it has been only a very few places I've found such a vibrant spiritual environment as here at the Heartgood Foundation. It continues to lead me in taking new steps and grow closer to God – so here I am - enjoying both life's challenges and blessings – and excited about where God will lead me in the future.
